COMMUNITY SERVICE
COMMUNITY SERVICE NEWS - October 2006
ADOPT A SOLDIER QUILT
Our Holiday Community Service project will be soldier quilts. We have been told
that quilts are also used by the family members while they are in the hospitals sitting
with their loved ones. So please start thinking about the quilt that you want to donate
this holiday season. The size should not be any larger than 60”x80” and can be as
small as a lap size to use in a wheel chair. Patriotic themes are welcome. Remember that we have a large supply of fabric and quilt tops, so if there is a new technique you would like to try feel free to make something for community service with our fabrics or quilt tops first. Then you will be ready to make your quilt. Thank you again for your help and support.
OCTOBER MEETING WILL BE OUR LAST CHANCE TO SEND THEM QUILTS
We still need quilts to donate to the Russian Orphanage. We have 20 quilts completed
and need 60 more to be sure that each child has a quilt this year. They can range from
baby to twin- anything will be appreciated.
We can be sure that the recipients of each of these quilts appreciate the caring and generosity of those who made these gifts possible.
